I brought this dish to a work function and I had colleagues literally racing to get to it.
Perfect for literally any occasion, cheese balls are a great edition to your spread. You can steam things up adding minced jalapeno or mix up the type of crushed nut you have encasing the cheese ball.
What more perfect to snack on while waiting for the big Thanksgiving Day feast. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on the TV, Christmas music playing gently in the background, crackers in hand… yeah, its about that time.
2- 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup bacon bits
1/4 cup sliced almonds, crushed
1/8 cup sliced green onions
Cheddar Bacon Cheese Ball
In a medium sized mixing bowl or stand mixer add cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Whisk together or blend using the paddle attachment until smooth.
Roll cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap completely in cling wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until firm.
In a mixing bowl add bacon bits, sliced almonds an green onions. Mix together with a spoon until well combined.
Remove cream cheese mixture from cling wrap and place into bacon bits. Press all sides into mixture, until completely coated. Serve chilled or at room temperature with crackers of your choice.
About 12 servings.
